A typical day
On tour, the audit party sits in a room at the audited office for one to three weeks, calling for files and going through payments, tenders and stock records line by line. You write audit memos, get replies, and draft the inspection report before moving to the next unit. Between tours you are at headquarters vetting reports and pursuing old paragraphs. Tours can take up half the month or more in field audit wings.
