Privacy Policy

This policy explains what HowIndiaEarns collects when you use the site, and what we do with it. The short version: you can use everything without an account, and we do not store what you type into the calculators or the project report builder.

What we collect

• Browsing and calculators: you can use every page, the salary calculator and the profit calculator without an account. Calculations run in your browser.
• Project reports: the details you type (name, unit address, numbers) are used to create your PDF and are not stored on our servers. A draft is saved only in your own browser so you can come back to it.
• Suggestions (optional): when you suggest a job, an exam or a business, what you typed (the name, the state, department or town, and your note) is emailed to us. The form does not ask for your name, phone number or email, and the suggestion is not kept in a database.
• Emails you send us: if you write to us, we keep your message and address so that we can reply.
• Technical data: when you send a suggestion or create a project report, your IP address is held briefly in memory to limit misuse (one-way hashed for reports). It is not saved. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.

Cookies and storage in your browser

• Our own storage: the project report builder saves your draft in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, and you can remove it by clearing site data in your browser.
• Advertising cookies: set by Google and its partners, as described below.
• Amazon: may set cookies when you follow a book link, as described below.

Advertising

We show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many vendors' personalised ads at aboutads.info. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors from regions that require it are shown a consent message before personalised ads are used.

Ads are kept out of the calculators, the project report builder and the forms. Advertisers do not see what you type there.

Book links (Amazon)

Our book lists link to Amazon.in. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When you follow such a link, Amazon may set cookies to record the referral; we can see which items were ordered through our links, but not who ordered them. The books are chosen for their usefulness, and no publisher pays to be listed.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers to run the site (hosting, an email service that delivers suggestions to us, and Google for advertising), and they process data on our behalf or under their own policies. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Children

This site is meant for adults and older students planning a career or a business. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

We keep no database of visitors. If you have written to us by email, you can ask us what we hold, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@howindiaearns.com. We act on requests within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
