What this site is

HowIndiaEarns is a free information site about government jobs and about starting small businesses in India. It is not a government website, a recruiting body, a coaching institute, a bank, a lender, a chartered accountant or a consultant. We do not conduct exams, offer jobs, give loans, approve subsidies, issue licences or act for you with any office.

Government job pages

• Pay level, age limits, qualifications and exam stages are taken from official notifications and recruitment rules at the time shown on each page. They change with every notification. Always read the current official notification before you apply.
• In-hand salary is calculated from the pay rules in force (basic pay, dearness allowance, house rent allowance and standard deductions). Your pay slip can differ because of your city, allowances and deductions.
• Promotion timelines, postings and work-life descriptions are typical accounts, not guarantees. They vary by department, cadre and region.
• Pages that have not yet been checked by a person against the official source say so at the top.

Business numbers are estimates

• Machinery, raw-material and selling prices are typical figures taken from supplier listings, published guides and official documents at the time shown on each page. Real prices differ by town, supplier, quantity and date.
• Investment, profit, loan instalment, break-even and other figures are calculated from those inputs and the assumptions listed on the page. They are illustrations, not forecasts and not promises of income.
• Many businesses fail or earn less than expected. A business page showing a profit does not mean you will make that profit.
• Pages whose prices have not yet been confirmed with suppliers say so at the top. Treat those figures with extra care.

Earnings from gig and commission work are other people's figures

• On pages about delivery work, agency work and similar, every earnings figure is quoted from a named source with its date. We have not checked those figures ourselves and they are not a promise of what you will earn.
• The calculators on those pages work only from the rates you type in. Pay rates, commissions, fees and incentives are set by the companies and change without notice.
• Whether some of this work is permitted, bike taxis for example, depends on your state and can change. Confirm with the transport office or the regulator before you start.
• We are not connected with any platform, insurer, builder or broker named on the site, and we do not recruit for them.
• Pages about trading in shares or derivatives describe published findings of the regulator. They are not investment advice and not a recommendation to trade.

Not financial, legal or tax advice

Nothing on this site is career, financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Before you invest money, sign a lease, buy machinery or take a loan, get quotations in writing, check the rules with the office concerned, and speak to a chartered accountant or other qualified adviser who knows your situation.

Loans, subsidies and licences

Loan limits, subsidy rates, tax slabs, GST rates and licence requirements change, and they can differ by state. We keep them as of October 2026, but we may be out of date or wrong. A bank decides whether to lend, how much, at what rate and on what terms. Government schemes can be closed, changed or out of funds. Always confirm on the official portal or with the office concerned before relying on a scheme.

Project reports

The project report builder produces a document from the numbers you enter. You are responsible for checking every figure and for what you submit to a bank. A report from this site does not guarantee that a loan will be sanctioned. We do not store the personal details you type into the builder; see the privacy policy.

Links, suppliers and advertisements

We link to supplier listings, news reports and government sites as sources. Our book lists link to Amazon.in; as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, prices or conduct. Naming a supplier, brand, machine or scheme is not a recommendation. Advertisements on the site are served by third parties such as Google; we do not endorse the advertised products or services, and advertisers have no influence on what we publish.

Using the content

You may use the site for your own career or business planning and share links to it. Please do not copy pages or data in bulk, republish them as your own, or use automated tools that overload the site. Business and brand names mentioned belong to their owners.

Limit of liability

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, HowIndiaEarns and its owner are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this site or from decisions made using its content.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
