What you will actually do

- Following up overdue loans and recovery
- Selling deposits, loans, insurance and other products to meet targets
- Handling customer complaints and compliance checks
- Managing clerical staff and cash arrangements
A typical day
You open the branch systems in the morning and spend the day between your desk and the counter: authorising transactions, processing loan files, answering customers and dealing with whatever the branch manager passes on. After the doors close there is day-end work, loan documentation and calls to defaulters. In a small rural branch you may be second-in-command of everything. Staying past 7 p.m. is normal, later in March.
