What you will actually do

A typical day

You are deployed by the duty officer for the day: a picket at a crossing, a beat on a motorcycle, a PCR van shift or bandobast at a rally. Shifts are meant to be eight hours and are usually twelve. Delhi has a constant stream of VIP movement, protests and festivals, so leave and weekly offs get cancelled often. Much of the job is standing, watching and being the first to respond.
