What you will actually do

  • Supervising ticket booking and reservation counters
  • Managing parcel and goods booking, delivery and claims
  • Checking daily cash and remitting station earnings
  • Preparing duty rosters for commercial clerks
  • Handling passenger complaints and refund cases
  • Ticket checking drives and commercial inspections when assigned

A typical day

You run a booking or reservation office in shifts. The work is watching queues and counters, sorting out disputes over refunds and cancellations, tallying the day's cash from every counter and making sure it is deposited. When a clerk is absent you may sit at the counter yourself. Rush seasons and server breakdowns make for difficult days with angry passengers.
