Starting basic ₹25,500. HRA and other state allowances are added on top as per Maharashtra rules.

For the first three years the appointment is on a fixed monthly honorarium (₹16,000 as last revised); the regular scale shown here applies after that. After three years as Krushi Sevak you are absorbed as Agriculture Assistant (Krushi Sahayak) on this scale.

What you will actually do

  • Visiting farms and advising on seeds, fertiliser, pests and water use
  • Conducting crop demonstrations and farmer training
  • Processing applications for subsidy schemes on the MahaDBT portal
  • Crop-cutting experiments and crop loss surveys with the Talathi and Gram Sevak
  • Promoting crop insurance and soil health cards
  • Reporting sowing and crop condition data

A typical day

You cover a handful of villages on a two-wheeler. A typical day has farm visits in the morning, a meeting or demonstration in one village, and then data entry on scheme portals from the circle office or your phone. After hail or heavy rain you join the joint panchnama teams walking field to field. Farmers judge you by whether their subsidy comes through, so a lot of time goes in following up applications.
